Coaching Ideas for Support Providers:

Pay Attention: What are the words, body language and tone you and your Participating Teacher adding to the conversation?

Pause: Allow time to process during the discussion.

Paraphrase: Rephrasing what was said can help keep the conversation on track, increase clarity and stimulate deeper discussion.

Probe: Ask inviting questions that encourage discussants to go more deeply into their ideas, Tell me more about... I'm curious about... be sure to be supportive and understanding!

Be Positive and always assume that the discussant has the best possible intention in mind.  You represent your school site, how do you really want it to be percieved?
